To: Instructors, Coaches, Parents, Athletes and Referees

Every Queensland athlete who has been invited to compete in Edinburgh, Scotland will be required to source their own funding, with costs anticipated to reach in excess of $4000 per player. This tournament will be run solely for the purpose of each athlete. Referee’s and event organizers have all agreed to forego their usual payment so this can happen. Additionally entry fees and usual competition expenses have been kept to a minimum to facilitate better participation and maximise profits. And, as such there will be no medals given at this event, however, each athlete will be awarded with a participation certificate.

On October 18-19 Bushinkai is attending a seminar with Shihan Fumio Demura 9th Dan hosted by Sensei Julian Mallalieu.

Fumio Demura (出村 文男) is a Japanese master of Karate and Kobudo and was Pat Morita’s (Mr Miyagi) martial arts stunt double in the first four Karate Kid movies. He holds the rank of 9th dan in Shitō-ryū Karate.
