Manchester, will host the WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix in October 2014, the World Taekwondo Federation has announced. The decision was taken by the federation at their Executive Council meeting in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, following a successful bid by GB Taekwondo together with UK Sport and Manchester City Council.

The 2014 Stars and Stripes is a sparring only event using the Daedo E-hogu for all events and the Daedo E-head gear for all head contact divisions.

Early November, it was made official by the World Karate Federation that Okinawa Prefecture will welcome this WKF sponsored competition in 2014.

Although this is not an event about Okinawa traditional karate, it is a great opportunity to promote the cradle of karate, Okinawa.

The National Collegiate Karate Tournament is open to International Shotokan Karate Federation
(ISKF/US) members who are full-time graduate or undergraduate students in good standing of a United
States college, university or junior college. Competitors must be at least 18 years old. Competitors must
present valid proof of full-time student status for current semester (or previous semester, if your college
registration is held after September 6, 2014), and current ISKF membership cards. In team competition,
all members of a team must be students of the same school.
