Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has not yet decided on his opponent. However, the fighter emphasized that he is interested in a confrontation with former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.
“I don't have a name right now [who I would like to fight]. I think it depends on the situation [when I come back]. Why not [Deontay] Wilder or a rematch with Fury? I don't know. I'm for anything that makes sense.”
“He [Wilder] is a very good name that would interest me.”
Francis made his professional boxing debut in October 2023 against the then WBC champion Tyson Fury and lost by a decision. The Cameroonian had his next fight in March 2024 against Anthony Joshua and was knocked out in the second round.
It is known that Ngannou had previously expressed a desire to fight Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk. As for Wilder, he was also considering a fight against Francis.
Ngannou will officially return to MMA on October 19. The 39-year-old mixed martial arts fighter will resume his career against Brazilian Renan “Problem” Ferreira at the “Clash of the Giants” event.
