Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh has shared her plans to compete in two more Olympic Games.

“Of course, I have a goal to jump even higher, to win even more gold medals. I really want to be a 2-time Olympic champion. The Olympic record of 2.06 meters has not yet been broken, I really want to break it, and we are working towards it. A new training cycle will begin, four years before Los Angeles, and I set a goal to break this record.”

“Everything is individual. If we take high jumping, it happens that [people] jump up to 35 years old. I have two more Olympics in my plans, that is, Australia in 2032 and that's it. I'll be 31 years old, so I can still jump.”

As a reminder, Yaroslava Maguchikh was recognized as the best athlete in Ukraine in June, August and September. Yaroslava was also recognized as the best athlete of Ukraine in 2023.

At the 2024 Olympic Games, Maguchikh won gold, clearing the bar at a height of 2.00 meters.

Also on July 7, Maguchikh broke the world record in high jump, which had been held since 1987, when she cleared 2.10 meters at the Diamond League in Paris.

The next Summer Olympics in 2028 will be held in Los Angeles, followed by the 2032 Games in Brisbane, Australia.
