Former WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) has addressed the team of Ukrainian WBO/WBA/IBO/WBC heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in a harsh manner.
“The “Gypsy King” told the Ukrainian to go to hell. In response, Usyk did not go into personalities and insults.
“You're very cool, my friend,” the Ukrainian responded succinctly.
On the night of May 18-19, Usyk inflicted the first defeat of his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a separate decision of the judges: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.
Usyk and Fury signed an agreement for a second fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the revenge option. The second fight between Oleksandr and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said that he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight. Oleksandr Usyk will prepare for the rematch in a training camp in Valencia. Tyson Fury said he would start training six to seven weeks before the fight.
