Ukraine's Ilya Mashchenko (Raptor) won a silver medal at the 2024 World Youth Breakdancing Championships.
The World Youth Championships were held in China under the auspices of the International Dance Sport Federation. A total of 228 athletes from 42 countries took part in the competition.
Ukraine was represented by nine boys and girls. In the final, Mashchenko lost to Ra1on from Japan.
“I am not satisfied with the result - I wanted to win gold. But I know for sure that I did my best. Now the priority is to recover and continue training to show maximum results in the next competitions.”
After the World Youth Championships, a ranking of athletes will be formed who will be eligible to participate in the qualifying breakers for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. Qualification will begin next year.
