Polina Putsko has won the women's super sprint at the 2024 Ukrainian Summer Biathlon Championships in Yavoriv (Lviv Oblast).
Despite six misses at four firing lines, 18-year-old Putsko managed to finish first, 17.1 seconds ahead of Anastasia Merkushyna. Daryna Chalyk took the bronze medal.
The winner of the sprint race, Olena Gorodna, finished ninth. Khrystyna Dmytrenko was fifth, and Anna Kryvonos was ninth.
Valeria Sheigas, who won the super sprint qualification, failed in the final race. The 18-year-old athlete made 10 misses and finished 24th.
The men's super sprint will also take place in Yavoriv today, and the classic relays will be held on September 26.
