Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Vladislav Sirenko believes that former world champion Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) is the favorite in his fight with IBF heavyweight belt holder Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs).
“For me, Joshua is a big favorite. I formed this opinion after the last fights of the boxers. Du Bois took a lot of punches from Hrgovich and I'm sure that if he starts taking Joshua's punches in the same way, the fight will end early.”
“Does Dubois have a chance for a knockout? I know exactly the power of Dubois' punches, and I can say that he will always have a chance. He proved it in many previous fights. It should also be noted that Dubois, in my opinion, has better physical fitness for the second half of the fight. In other words, if he can withstand Joshua's starting pressure, his chances will increase.”
“I think Joshua risks his reputation more in case of defeat because he has a bigger name in world sports. But no matter how this fight ends, it's a mega-fight that will bring a lot of exciting emotions to the fans.”
The Dubois-Joshua fight will take place on September 21. The arena for the event will be Wembley Stadium in London. Du Bois will defend the IBF heavyweight world title, which he received after Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk relinquished the belt.
The fight will be the headliner of the big boxing night. The undercard will feature such fights as Tyler Denny - Hamza Shiraz, Anthony Kakache - Josh Warrington, Liam Smith - Josh Kelly, Joshua Buatsi - Willie Hutchinson and Mark Chamberlain - Josh Padley.
Dubois finished his fight with Filip Hrgovic in the eighth round. The fight took place as part of the 5 on 5 event in Riyadh. The British heavyweight won the title of IBF interim champion in the fight with the Croatian.
In his last fight, Joshua defeated former UFC world champion Francis Ngannou. After the fight, Eddie Hearn called Anthony the world's No. 1 heavyweight boxer. Joshua himself spoke about his desire to hold his next fight in June, but he was offered to postpone the fight until September.
