Toronto, October 2-4, 2015

Karate Canada is thrilled to once again welcome some of the world’s foremost karate experts and guest instructors for the imminent 2015 edition of its yearly Summit. This year, major highlights of the event will include the presence and contributions of both world-renown tactics expert Mr. Antonio Oliva- Seba (which will be leading distinct segments for both athletes and for Coaches) and world-famous kata champion and expert Mr. Akio Tamashiro
(who will be leading kata training sessions for all athletes).

Additionally, among the many other great sessions featured in this year’s program, we are happy to announce that our Officials Committee Co-Chairs will once again lead a National Referee Clinic as well as hold officials’ evaluations and upgrades, and that our Senior Kumite National Team Head Coach will, together with the help of our Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Team Video Analyst, unveil and share some of the helpful tactical analysis tools used in preparing the Team for its best-ever performance at the Games.
Our NCCP Committee Chair, Mr. Gérard Lauzière, will once again lead the delivery of a NCCP Comp-Dev karate-specific module, as part of the requirements of all Coaches seeking Comp Dev level training and certification.

Karate Canada will also continue to offer National Dan Testing opportunities in the context of this great yearly event, and will also continue to hold morning meetings where PSO / TSO Leaders and administrators can engage in constructive dialogue with Karate Canada’s Board members and staff on a variety of key issues. Furthermore, Karate Canada’s President will, along with panel of distinguished guests and experts, hold a Round Table Discussion on the role of Karate Canada in supporting PSO / TSO sport karate activities, for all Coaches, Instructors, Officials,  and PSO / TSO Representatives.
Finally, a great addition to the event’s program will this year, consist in a Coach Education Workshop and Training Session for AWAD (Athletes with a Disability), led by our AWAD Committee Chair, with the help of our National Team Kata Head Coach.  A very important segment, which will further open the door to inclusiveness of all participants in the practice of the sport of karate, nationwide!

In short, Karate Canada is therefore pleased to confirm that we will once again offer various useful workshops, as well as training and development sessions for athletes, instructors, leaders, volunteers, coaches, and officials alike, over the course of all three days.
