Welcome to the English Karate Federation’s 5
th National Kyu Grade Championship. (No Dan Grades)
This competition is split to incorporate categories, Novices to Yellow Belts,(8th Kyu’s), Green Belts to Purple & White Belts (4th Kyu’s) and then 3rd
Kyu’s to Brown & White Belt (1st Kyu’s).
Registration is from 8;00am with the competition starting at 9.00am prompt.
Please don't forget that the EKF entry closing date is Saturday 2
nd January 2016.

 This event is open to all EKF registered athletes.

 Individuals/Clubs/Associations are reminded of their responsibility and the importance of insurance cover for all athletes and that coaches signing entry
forms have confirmed they have seen all registrations including insurance cover for all their competitors.

COACHES:
 There will be licence & weight check on the day (No Licence , No participation)
 Will ensure only 1
st Kyu & Below will participate in this 5
th EKF Kyu Grade National Championships
 Any competitor failing the weigh-in check will not be allowed to change category on the day (allowance of +/- 1 Kg will be made.
 Weigh In for competitors can be made upon till 2pm
 Coaches ensure that individuals remain in their own weight and age category
 Coaches must be in Association tracksuits, Coaches must also hold a current EKF TATAMI COACHES ACCREDITATION to coach around the competition areas

Event schedule
All Kata competitors are to arrive by 8.00am for commencement of Kata events by 9.00am. Individual Kata will be the first events
followed by Team Kata, Team Kumite and finally Individual Kumite. Individual weigh-ins for all Kumite events will be available until
2pm
All Junior/Cadet and Senior Kumite competitors are to arrive by12Noon for commencement of Kumite events by 1pm
Area maps, with running orders of events will be in the coach’s pack and will be emailed out prior to the competition or be available on
the day of the competition.
Could all Associations/Clubs coaches be advised that the rules are based on WKF and will be applied in Senior, Junior & Cadet
Categories, Children’s Categories MAY have amendments which in the event will be posted prior to the championships on the
EKF web site time permitting. All contestants must wear a plain white Karate Gi
The following WKF Approved Protective equipment is compulsory:
Mitts red for AKA and blue for AO
Shin pads red for AKA and blue for AO
Foot protector red for AKA and blue for AO
Gum shield
Female chest protector
Body protector ( 12 Years and Above)
Groin Guards
