In 2014 we had 1150 entries from 19 countries and streamed the event to 42 countries. This tournament is growing in numbers an quality each year and we expect many coaches and athletes will view this championships as ideal preparation for the WKF Juniors in Jakarta later in the year.
By the time we compete in this championships the European Karate Federation will have many member nations who participated in the inaugural European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. These Games have the patronage of the European Olympic Committee and is the first time Karate has been invited to participate in an Olympic environment. The news that the IOC will modernise and expand the number of sports for Tokyo 2020 has given us renewed hope in our ambition to join the Olympic programme and it is vitaly important we support the WKF in this quest
