Las Vegas, Nevada

February 19-23, 2014

The 2014 U.S. Open has been selected as one of two WTF-sanctioned Open events to perform a field test using the new Electronic Headgear. We will use the Daedo Electronic Headgear for two junior weight categories over a two-day period. The data collected will be used to provide the WTF with data that will be used to determine whether the Electronic Headgear will be confirmed for use at future WTF-sanctioned events. The Trelleborg Open and the U.S. Open have been selected as the events to conduct these field tests.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note, given that the U.S. Open is sanctioned by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), ALL (U.S. and International) Cadet, Junior, Senior and Ultra Poomsae (10-11 poomsae participants are not required) participants and Officials (Coaches, Head of Team, Manager or Medical) are required to obtain a WTF Global Athlete License (GAL) or WTF Global Official License (GOL) through their home country WTF Member National Association (MNA) per the WTF Competition Rules. Participants must apply for the WTF GL one month prior to the start of this event (February 19). This period will give enough time for the MNA Administrators to successfully get approval of the license. Please note that licenses will not be approved until payment is confirmed by the WTF. Please work with your MNA to ensure you obtain your WTF GAL before traveling to the U.S. Open. All registered applications must provide proof of an approved WTF Global License to receive an event credential and to participate.

Questions about the process can be directed to USA Taekwondo via Jeanna Mendoza at Jeanna.Mendoza@usa-taekwondo.us. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and for supporting the U.S. Open!
