Bo-jutsu is a classical martial art utilizing a long stick (staff) with the length of around 180cm (approx. 70 inches). There have been many bo-jutsu styles throughout Japan since the ancient times. The Bo-jutsu we research, practice and teach is based upon the Shotokan Karate originated in the ancient art of Shuri-te practiced by the samurai of the old Okinawa (Ryukyu) who were the descendants of the Japanese samurai (mostly from the Taira family) immigrated to the southern islands during the Heian Period (794-to-1185 AD).

For more information, and/or to sign up for the class, please contact Sensei Akihiro Omi <aki@yushin-juku.org>.
