Slowly developed from its modest start in 2000, the Vancouver Cup has grown up to be one of the premiere Kyokushin events in North America. The competitive ambience of the tournament provides participants with a bridge between national and international competitions. In fact, numerous fighters have used this event as a stepping stone on their way to the world tournament. Johnny Leblanc, Michi Nagase, Dominic Adam, Baldalip Thind, Haoyin Zheng, Sylvain Lemire, Matth Payne, Pasha Mykhaylov, Mohamed Chikh, Jordan Forget, Sebastian Canse, I-Shin Wu, Kris Erickson and Mark Berg are all among them.
The tournament is also strongly supported by well-trained officials whose expertise and experience provide fair judgments and a safe environment for competitors. The event would have never been successful without their support.
