The beginning of March of this year O’Sensei Shimabuku requested that I host the 2015 IWKA World Championships. I have secured a site and plans are underway.

WHEN:  Thursday, August 6th – Saturday, August 8th, 2015.
WHERE:  The Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village, Princeton, New Jersey. All tournament activities will be on site, just one hour from the Newark or Philadelphia airport.

THE THEME FOR THIS TOURNAMENT IS: UNITING THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE WITH THE VISION SO THE “ONE HEART WAY” MAY CONTINUE—UNITED IN HEART, FOCUSING THE SPIRIT AND THE DREAM OF MASTER TATSUO SHIMABUKU AND HIS SON, MASTER KICHIRO SHIMABUKU.

Self-Defense and Naihanchi Seminars for Green Belts and Above with Master Wallace, 9th Dan, Hanshi Duessel’s most senior student and Black Belts of Hanshi Duessel. Profits from these seminars will be donated to the American Lung Association in memory of Hanshi Duessel.

To compete in the event all Isshin-ryu Karate practitioners must preregister. All registrations must be postmarked on or before June 26, 2015. Early registration discounts are available for those who register by March 20, 2015. Register by December 5, 2014 to save even more on tournament, banquet and seminars. The sooner a person registers, the later he or she will compete in kata.
