EUROPEAN KARATE OPEN CATEGORY CHAMPIONSHIP

08-09 of November Kaunas, LITHUANIA

The European Karate Organization Championships will take place on 8-9 of November
in Kaunas, Lithuania, in city “Sport Hall”, Perkūno av. 5.

1. Weight categories and number of participants for each country
a) European championship for adults open category (18 years of the day of the competition):
Kumite men Kumite ladies
Open weight category Open weight category
2 participants per country in each category.
Additionally in open category also can participate all the medal winners of the past two years EKO
adults Championships (List in attachment).
b) European championship for youths U22 (born in 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996 (18 years on the
day of the competition):
Kumite men: -65 kg, 65-70 kg, 70-75, kg 75-80 kg, 80-85, kg, +85 kg.
Kumite ladies: -55 kg, 55-60 kg, 60-65 kg, +65 kg
Kata men and Kata ladies
2 participants per country in each category KUMITE and KATA.
ALL WORLD AND EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP FOR ADULTS MEDAL WINNERS CAN’T
PARTICIPATE IN THE U22 CHAMPIONSHIP.
c) European championship for cadets U16 (born in 1998, 1999).
Kumite men: -50 kg, 50-55 kg, 55-60, kg 60-65kg, 65-70 kg 70-75, kg, +75 kg.
Kumite ladies: -50 kg, -50-55 kg, 55-60 kg, 60-65 kg, +65 kg.
Kata men and Kata ladies
2 participants per country in each category KUMITE and KATA.
d) Country organizer has one extra participant in each category. 2

2.Preliminary schedule
6.11.2014 Thursday: - arrival of EKO Board, EKO referee and grading committees, participants.
7.11.2014 Friday: - arrival of participants, officials and country delegations
10:00-18:00 weight and medical control, draw
10:00 EKO referee committee meeting
10:00 EKO grading committee meeting
13:00 EKO Board meeting
16:00 referee registration and meeting
8.11.2014 Saturday: European championship U16 and U22
9.11.2014 Sunday: European Karate Open category Championship
Sayonara Party
10.11.2014 Monday: - check-out and departure.

3. Financial conditions:
a) Accommodation, flight tickets, transportation and meals shall be covered by participants;
b) EKO participation and antidoping fee 20 Euro per each participant;
c) All payments should be paid by bank transfer, or upon arrival;
d) Information for participants and guests staying in other hotels: Sayonara Party ticket 25 Euro,
transportation to sport hall not available.

4. Accommodation:
Accommodation in twin and double rooms will be available at the special price of 30 euro/night/person
including breakfast.
Transportation to the sport hall from official hotels will be arranged by the organizer free of charge.
Guests staying in all official hotels get free entrance to the competition venue.
Deadline for hotel booking and final confirmation 1st of October 2014.

5. Airport transfers:
Flights are available to International Airports Kaunas (local) and Vilnius (90 km).
Transfers from airports Kaunas and Vilnius will be scheduled by the organizer at the request and expense of
the participants. Detailed transfer schedule and cost will be given by mail after all of the flight schedules,
times and details have been entered at the registration on the official website.
