	RULES: - This Event will only be opened to clubs not in breach of WKF

	Random licence and weight checks will be conducted.
	By entering this tournament you confirm that you fulfil the above.
	• Open Kumite and  Kata
	• Beginners category in both Kumite and kata
	• Veterans categories will be strictly for veterans only
	• Disability categories
Entries to be returned to the Organiser no later than 15th June 2014
	All Clubs/Coaches/Competitors should be aware that the events are run to W.K.F. Version 7, 2012 rules.  Slight amendments by the Organisers may be necessary for the safe running of the Championships.  The organisers reserve the right to amend or alter the rules without prior notice.
	Categories will play the repercharge system where there are sufficient participants.
	If any Categories have insufficient numbers then they may be combined with others at the discretion of the Chief Referee and the Organising Committee.
	All veteran categories will be strictly for that age group only.
	Apart from the veteran sections a competitor must enter their own category and they may enter further categories moving up, and may not enter below.
	Underprescribed categories may be amalgamated by the organiser.
	PLEASE NOTE: This competition is open to all students regardless of experience.
	KATA
	Individual Kata events will:
	• The Kata events will be run using the J.K.F. system whereby two competitors will perform their kata simultaneously until the final.  The final will be run using the W.K.F. system where the competitors will perform their kata separately.
	• KATA RULES
	• KA2 /KA2a/ KA6/KA6a/ KA7/KA7a/ KA10/KA10a/ KA12/ KA13. May perform and repeat any kata. Students who know more than one kata are encouraged to perform a different kata in each round.
	• KA1/KA1a/ KA3/KA3a/ KA4/KA4a/ KA5/KA5a/ KA8/KA8a/ KA9/KA9a/ KA11/KA11a. Must perform a different kata in each round.
	• Pk1/PK2/ PK3/tk1/ TK2/ TK3. Can perform and repeat any kata in any round. Students who know more than one pair/team kata are encouraged to perform a different kata in each round.
	
	KUMITE
	In the new W.K.F rules:
	• There is no Sai Shiai if the scores are drawn; instead the referee/Judge (Hantei) decision will determine the winner. 
	• Category 1 and 2 warnings against competitor “A” no longer come with the allocation of points to competitor “B”.
	• Feigning an injury, which does not exist, is a serious infraction and will result in SHIKKAKU (Disqualification from the entire tournament)
	• Exaggerating the effect of an actual injury is less serious but will receive a minimum warning of
	• HANSOKU CHUI. More serious exaggeration such as staggering around, falling on the floor, stand-ing up and falling down again and so on may receive HANSOKU directly.
	• “Avoiding combat” will result in a warning.
	• * indicates that there will be a first place prize money of £100.00 plus medal. Only open to Kumite  over 18s

	In team matches a deciding bout will be held when both teams have equal wins & points, Hantei in the event of the deciding bout being a draw. 
	Points:
	• 1 Point – Yuko (Chudan or Jodan Tsuki/Uchi)
	• 2 Points – Waza-ari (Chudan Kicks)
	• 3 Points – Ippon  (Jodan Kicks, Any scoring technique delivered on a thrown/fallen opponent)
	
	PROTECTION
	• Blue and red shin & Instep protectors (not elastic type) are compulsory for all Kumite categories
	• Blue & red mitts are compulsory for all kumite categories
	• Gum shields are compulsory for all kumite categories
	• Groin guards for male Kumite is compulsory
	• Ladies chest protectors optional
	• Male and female WKF approved/style  body protectors are optional
	•  head or face masks advisable in accordance with wkf rules
	• Please encourage students to bring their own blue & red belts
	TEAM KUMITE
	Each team is to include 2 x male and 1 x female competitors.  The category will be played as follows:
	1st bout 1st Male
	2nd bout 1st Female
	3rd bout 2nd Male
	Should team A win the 1st and 2nd bouts the third bout will not take place as is normal in team events.
	KATA RULES
	• Can perform and repeat any kata in any round for the u16s. Student who know more than one Pair / Team kata are encouraged to perform a different kata in each round.
	• Over 16s must perform different kata in each round, and may repeat kata only in final
